Tzutujil Mayans the Guardians of Cacao with Nana Marina, Tata Pedro Cruz & Florencia Fridman

Join us for a memorable evening as we celebrate the fruit of Love, Theobroma Cacao, through Cacao Lab's short documentary release + Cacao Ceremony led by Mayan elder and Spiritual Guide Nana Marina Cruz along with Florencia Fridman.

The evening will begin with a Cacao ceremony led by the indigenous elders Nana Marina Cruz and Tata Pedro Cruz, alongside Florencia Fridman followed by the first showing of the Cacao Lab's documentary "Cacao: Food of the Gods" produced by Eric Fridman, directed by Daniel Garcia

ABOUT THE SHORT FILM

Long before chocolate became industrialized, the Maya civilization utilized sacred cacao as a heart opener and to connect with nature in order to understand its delicate balance and divinity. That is what happened to us and what propelled us to come to share this with the world. We believe the medicine of cacao and the burgeoning cacao culture can bring about the change necessary to save us from destroying our planet.

We traveled to the heart of Cacao Culture in Guatemala to develop a short documentary and shine light on the mystery and the magic behind cacao ceremonies and the guardians that maintain this sacred practice. Within the film, you'll hear from the Mayan Tzutujil Community as well as local farmers on their understanding and connection to Theobroma Cacao. Learning ways to continue honoring and respecting this sacred plant.

Inspiration—
2019 comes connected with the energy of inspiration and love. With the portals that have opened, the new energy that arrives shows us the path of real, unconditional love; connecting us again with the true essence that resides within us, often hidden behind the fake beliefs that have created misleading and often destructive patterns.
We invite you to write the story you are ready to tell, the art of life you are ready to create.
This will be a four-hour journey purifying through conscious breathing known as rebirthing, exercises to cut cords with the unhealthy patterns, and of course there will be Ceremonial Cacao and Sound meditation as part of the experience.
The mother-daughter duo (Florencia Fridman and her mother, mentor, and life teacher— Silvia Nielsen will be facilitating the journey).

Sunday, January 13 in English and Spanish
Cost: $ 65

Sacred Cacao 5-Element Dance Journey

*** This ceremony is NOT facilitated by Florencia Fridman

This 5-Element Cacao Dance Journey is a Heart-OnFunRaiser event for MOTI (Music on the Inside). MOTI is a non-profit organization that provides music and mentorship to incarcerated youth. Your particpation in this ceremony directly supports MOTI's programs.

5-Element Cacao Dance Journey is a guided movement meditation, and a heart-opening celebration!

We drink a traditional brew of cacao, chile, and honey, known for opening the heart.

We share our intentions, and are witnessed in sacred space.

Then we dance like maniacs!

Our cacao-blessed intentions are empowered by a joyful, alchemical, dancing journey through the elements:

Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether.

In this journey we embody the full spectrum of matter to spirit through creative expression. It is a celebration of our totality, and a powerful process to dance our dreams into physical reality, supported by the qualities we access in each element.

Cacao, the seed from which chocolate is made, is known for opening the heart. In ancient Mayan culture, cacao was revered as a sacred medicine. It is said that drinking cacao gives us a direct line for communion and communication with Divine Source. And it's a well-known aphrodisiac! (wink-wink;) <3

100% of proceeds will be donated to Music on the Inside's music and mentorship programs for young people in incarceration. Learn more about MOTI here.

Join Florencia Fridman through the exploration of ancient wisdom and practices to expand the sacred intelligence on an individual and collective level. We will gather around the essence of Cacao to connect us with the purpose behind each day. Tapping into the elements of nature, using pranayama practice and sound meditation to dwell into this human experience from a deeper connection to the self.

Erika Brown (Truth Seeker Divination) navigates Core Dance as an introductory level, authentic Meditational Movements, repetitive thoughts, ideas and promptings from our inner-self (Core Awareness) as indicators of the next steps we are guided to apply as well as offering solutions in the form of sequence, form and feeling. New spiritual activations and extra-sensory experiences are changing the way we can view ourselves and the world around us. By allowing our organic gifts to flourish through dream, study, prayer, meditation and ritual dance.

Cacao + Hip Hop

NYC Tribe, join us for this high vibe gathering as we congeal our collective energy, set intentions, and celebrate with music together! Florencia Fridman from Cacao Lab will be guiding the ceremony with Ceremonial Grade Cacao. This food in its purest form has expanded our hearts and minds, connecting us deeper with ourselves along with the idea of love and creativity for thousands of years. Cacao, pure chocolate, was used by the Mayas, Aztaecs, and other indigenous civilizations as part of rituals and ceremonies and we share this plant medicine to activate our higher realms of creativity, joy, and bliss!

Guiding the music portion of the evening will be elevated rapper, and poet J Brave!  This multi-talented artist fuses conscious rap, spoken word, and singing lyrics with contemporary produced beats to inspire and empower audiences! He strives to use music as a means to express his personal transformation while sharing his stories of resiliency through adversity. J Brave is passionate about uplifting the masses, speaking against injustices, and rekindling our connection to nature so we may live in a more loving world.

About our Hosts:
J Brave is an artist in action using music as a vehicle of service. He is a former counselor for Homeless and At-Risk youth turned MC & DJ on a mission to brake walls, and build bridges to bring people together! He is a member of the internationally renown Hip Hop collective the Luminaries, visionary of Benevolence Festival, co-founder of G.E.M. and has toured the world spreading messages of peace, love, and unity throughout his travels. His debut solo album "Amethyst" has peeked the ears of global listeners, and the single "Sacred" has gone viral approaching a million video views on Facebook.
