Cacao Ceremony with Mayan Elder Nana Marina

  • Greenpoint Brooklyn, NY United States (map)

We invite you to a fire and Cacao Ceremony with Nana Marina, an Mayan elder and spiritual guide from Guatemala who has come to share with us the wisdom of the sacred Cacao. A fruit traditionally used in ceremony by the ancestral cultures of Mesoamerica. With deep understanding we will celebrate the Mayan Cosmovision and the sacred Cacao.

Nana Marina is a Mayan Wisdom Keeper of the Tz'utujil tradition of Lake Atitlan. The Tz'utujil community is recognized as the guardians of Ix Cacao. Nana Marina has been sharing Mayan traditions and knowledge with our generation. Reminding us that our connection to the ancestral world and Mother Earth can have a profound impact on our modern lives.

The funds raised from this event will be used to develop the ancestral Tz'utujil Cacao production space. At the same time educate the people who are connected with Cacao about these traditions to continue to awaken our hearts and bring clarity to our lives.

***This Ceremony will be held OUTSIDE*** We will have a fire happening but please come prepared.
