Join us for a memorable evening as we celebrate the fruit of Love, Theobroma Cacao, through Cacao Lab's short documentary release + Cacao Ceremony led by Mayan elder and Spiritual Guide Nana Marina Cruz.
The evening will begin with a Cacao ceremony followed by the first showing of the Cacao Lab's documentary "Cacao: Food of the Gods" directed by Daniel Garcia.
About the short film:
Long before chocolate became industrialized, the Maya civilization utilized sacred cacao as a heart opener and to connect with nature in order to understand its delicate balance and divinity. That is what happened to us and what propelled us to come to share this with the world. We believe the medicine of cacao and the burgeoning cacao culture can bring about the change necessary to save us from destroying our planet.
We traveled to the heart of Cacao Culture in Guatemala to develop a short documentary and shine light on the mystery and the magic behind cacao ceremonies and the guardians that maintain this sacred practice. Within the film, you'll hear from the Mayan Tzutujil Community as well as local farmers on their understanding and connection to Theobroma Cacao. Learning ways to continue honoring and respecting this sacred plant.
